About CommonLeafVA

Virginia's cannabis & hemp compliance partner

CommonLeafVA is a licensing and compliance consultancy based in Leesburg, Virginia. We work with Virginia hemp businesses, now regulated by the Cannabis Control Authority, and with applicants preparing for the 2027 adult-use market.

From field to storefront

Virginia is building a regulated cannabis market from the ground up, while tightening the rules on hemp. That means new applications, new operating rules, new taxes and new inspections, all arriving at once.

Our team brings years of experience licensing regulated products in Virginia and at the federal level. The playbook is familiar: a new authority, a licensing cap, detailed operating rules, monthly tax reporting, and inspectors who expect operators to know the rules on day one.

We put that experience to work for two groups: hemp businesses navigating Virginia's new hemp rules and the December 2026 federal change, and applicants preparing to compete for one of Virginia's adult-use licenses in 2027.

How we work

Three commitments

Plain answers

We tell you what the rule says, what it means for your business, and what to do next. No jargon for its own sake.

Fixed scopes

You approve a written scope and fee before work starts. No surprise invoices.

Inspection first

Everything we build is tested against one question: would it hold up if an inspector walked in today?

Let's talk about your license.

Hemp operator or new applicant, we'll start with where you are.
